Material Handler

RESPONSIBILITY FOR MATERIALS:

  • Maintain warehouse and yard inventory of raw materials, finished goods and packaging materials as required.
  • Move and store pallets of raw materials, packaging materials and finished goods safely and efficiently to prevent mechanical damage from improper handling or storage and prevent damage from weathering, rain, wind, etc.
  • Load and unload bulk quantity materials to prevent spills and odors. Determine proper unloading devices such as hoses and quick connects and inspect for serviceability prior to use.
  • Sample incoming shipments as required and deliver samples to QC Lab in timely manner.

 

RESPONSIBILITY FOR OPERATIONS:

  • Sample and unload bulk materials safely and efficiently to prevent spills and odors by proper use and connection of fittings to tanker or tank car unloading line. Use proper techniques in transfer of materials and disconnect of hoses and fittings to prevent escape of liquids or vapors.
  • Load bulk materials safely and efficiently to prevent spills and odors by proper use and connection of hoses and fittings to tanker and tank car.
  • Label, seal and palletize containers for shipment requiring care to prevent shifting or overturning of containers; ascertain proper labels, labeling and tagging; wrap and strap containers to make structurally sound, attractive packages.
  • Move, wrap and stack pallets of finished goods properly to prevent dmage to goods or pallets. Place and areas prescribed and protect goods as required from weather elements.
  • Load finished goods into truck trailers:
    - Inspect trailer for serviceability
    - Stack pallets into trailer by loading pattern with blocking and dunnage as required, using care to avoid damage to goods or trailer.
