The
AZTEC® 4.67G Advantage
AZTEC
4.67G is an easy-to-handle, granular corn soil insecticide
that offers a high level of broad spectrum control
in all types of soil, weather conditions, and tillage
practices. It protects your crop with a low-use rate
and is easy on the environment. The active ingredient
has low water solubility and strong soil binding
characteristics that keep it near your corn plants,
protecting them from soil insects.
The
combination of a unique organophosphate and a proven
pyrethroid provides control over a broad spectrum
of tough insects including cutworm and rootworm.
The low-use
rate means less exposure to you and less load on
the environment. Even though AZTEC 4.67G has a low-use
rate, it still provides consistent control of major
corn soil insects. But while AZTEC 4.67G is bad news
for corn soil insects, field tests show that it has
little impact on earthworms. So with AZTEC 4.67G
you
get an environmentally sound, low-odor product, with
a low active ingredient where you need it, and less
impact on the world.
Another benefit of AZTEC 4.67G is its
longer residual activity, giving you control of rootworms
through the
hatching period—up to 10 weeks or longer. AZTEC
4.67G doesn’t have a problem with enhanced microbial
degradation, either. This means there is no microbial
build-up, which would reduce the effectiveness of the
chemical.
AZTEC 4.67G has no herbicide interaction,
which means you have the flexibility to use any herbicide
you want.
Since AZTEC 4.67G doesn’t affect plant metabolism,
you don’t have to worry about corn plant injury
when using certain herbicides.
AZTEC 4.67G can only be applied through
the SmartBox™ system,
a closed handling and application system. AZTEC 4.67G
/ SmartBox™ system increases application accuracy
and grower productivity, and maximizes worker and environmental
safety.
Performance
AZTEC® 4.67G gives you consistent performance
with the high level of control you need in your
world -
no matter what types of soil you have, weather conditions
you experience or tillage practices you use. The
active ingredient has low water solubility and
strong soil
binding characteristics that keep it near your corn
plants, protecting them from soil insects.
Broad Spectrum Insect Control
AZTEC® 4.67G helps you protect your corn investment
by controlling major corn soil insects. As a combination
of a unique organophosphate and a proven pyrethroid,
AZTEC ® 4.67G give you two modes of action - to
control tough insects like cutworm and rootworm.
Less Grower Exposure and
Environmental Impact
The low-use
rate means less exposure to you and less load on
the environment. Even though AZTEC® 4.67G
has a low-use rate, it still provides consistent control
of major corn soil insects. But while AZTEC® 4.67G
is bad news for corn soil insects, field tests show
that it has little impact on earthworms. So with AZTEC® 4.67G
you get an environmentally-sound, low-odor product,
with a low active ingredient where you need it, and
less impact on the world.
Longer Residual
Another benefit
of AZTEC® 4.67G is its longer residual
activity, giving you control of rootworms through the
hatching period - up to 10 weeks or longer. AZTEC® 4.67G
doesn't have a problem with enhanced microbial degradation,
either. This means there is no microbial build-up which
would reduce the effectiveness of the chemical. AZTEC® 4.67G
performs year after year.
No Herbicide Interaction
AZTEC® 4.67G has no herbicide interaction, which
means you have the flexibility to use any herbicide
you want. Since AZTEC® 4.67G doesn't affect plant
metabolism, you don't have to worry about corn plant
injury when using certain herbicides.

Band Application
Apply specified dosage at planting as a 7-inch band
over the row behind the press wheel. Granules must
be incorporated into the top one-inch of soil using
tines, chains, or other suitable equipment.
T-Band Application
Apply specified dosage at planting as a T-Band over
the row behind the planter shoe and in front of the
press wheel. Incorporation into the soil surface
may also be accomplished with a drag chain or other
suitable equipment.
In-Furrow Application
Apply specified dosage at planting directly into the
seed furrow behind the planter shoe and in front
of the press wheel.
Optimum Control
Optimum control of cutworm is achieved when AZTEC 4.67G
is applied as a Band or T-Band. Optimum control of
wireworms, seedcorn maggots, seedcorn beetles, and
white grubs is achieved when AZTEC 4.67G is applied
as a T-Band or In-Furrow.
For no-till corn where runoff drains into adjacent
or neighboring aquatic sites (lakes, reservoirs, rivers,
permanent streams, marshes, estuaries, natural ponds,
or ponds used for commercial fishing), apply AZTEC
4.67G as an In-Furrow or T-Band application only.
For application made within 20 yards of aquatic sites
(lakes, reservoirs, rivers, permanent streams, marshes,
estuaries, natural ponds, or ponds used for commercial
fishing), apply AZTEC 4.67G as an In-Furrow application
only.
Cover or incorporate spills (including
end-row spillage). The SmartBox™ system will minimize
this.
SmartBox™
AZTEC 4.67G must be applied with the SmartBox™ system.
Always read and follow label recommendations prior
to use.
