Ecozin® 3% EC - Botanical Insecticide

Ecozin® 3% EC For controlling and repelling insects such as aphids, armyworms and other caterpillars, beetles (including Colorado Potato beetle), borers, budworms, cutworms, leafhoppers, leafminers, lepidopterous larvae, loopers, lygus, maggots, mealy bugs, psyllids, scale, stink bugs, weevils, whiteflies, and other insects.

Ecozin® is an insect growth regulator containing azadirachtin- a proven natural active ingredient. Ecozin® controls insects in the larval, pupal, and nymphal stages by interfering with the metabolism of ecdysone. Insects in these stages typically die between these stages, or during adult emergence through the ingestion or contact of azadirachtin.

Use Ecozin® for the following crops:

  • Root and Tuber vegetables: artichokes, beets, carrots, ginger, ginseng, horseradish, potatoes, radishes, rutabagas, sweet potatoes, turmeric, turnips, yams
  • Leafy Vegetables:amaranth, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, chervil, collard, cress, endive, fennel, kale, lettuce, parsley, rhubarb, spinach, etc.

What's working in the Pacific Northwest?

The following scenarios were used successfully in the states of Washington and Idaho.

  • REMEMBER: Ecozin® is a growth regulator. It does not kill eggs or adults. Wait 4-10 days AFTER THE LAST APPLICATION to evaluate the efficacy of the product.
  • APPLES (ORGANIC AND NON-ORGANIC, Washington Leafroller, Leafminer: Two applications of 1 lb DiPel + 10 oz Ecozin®, 7 days apart (summer), 10 days apart (spring).
  • Or, Two 10 oz applications of Ecozin®, 7-10 days apart (include oil if possible)
  • Mealybug: Tank mixes of Provado + 10 oz Ecozin® looked promising, as well as a Sevin, Thiodan and Ecozin® combination. Or, 3 applications of Ecozin® at 10 oz each, 7-10 days apart (include oil if possible)
  • Lacanobia: 2 applications of Ecozin® (10 oz), 7-10 days apart (include oil if possible)
  • POTATOES (ORGANIC), Washington
  • Armyworm, Colorado Potato Beetle: 2 applications of Ecozin® (10 oz), 7-10 days apart with NuFilm 17
  • ONIONS (ORGANIC) Idaho
  • Thrips: 2 applications of Ecozin® (10 oz), 7-10 days apart.
