Eric Wintemute, AMVAC's President and American Vanguard Corporation's Chief Executive Officer was elected to this post in mid-1994. Mr. Wintemute joined the company in January 1994 as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors following American Vanguard's acquisition of GemChem Inc., a national and international chemical distribution company he co-founded in 1991. From 1977 to 1982, he worked for AMVAC in a variety of sales, purchasing, and production control capacities. As a Vice President and Director of R.W. Greeff & Co. from 1982 to 1991, Mr. Wintemute oversaw the national and international distribution of key AMVAC chemical products. Mr. Wintemute holds a Bachelors of Science in Economics from the University of California, San Diego.

Trevor Thorley

Trevor Thorley has spent his entire career in the agricultural sector, holding positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing, strategic planning, and general management. He worked for 20 years at German multinational Bayer, both in the United Kingdon and the USA. In his last position with Bayer, as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales for the NAFTA region, he was responsible for managing sales in excess of $400 million.

Over the last six years, he has been President and Chief Operating Officer of Valent USA Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary of Sumitomo Chemical Company. In addition to his success in the U.S. market, since 2003, he has also managed the North and South American region for Sumitomo's overall crop protection business and successfully achieved considerable business growth in Latin America and Canada. Most recently, he has held the position of Executive Officer for Sumitomo Chemical - the first non-Japanese executive accorded such a role.

David T. Johnson

David Johnson's extensive experience includes over 20 years of financial management for a number of prominent multinational corporations including, Director of Finance for Amcor Flexibles UK Ltd. (A $500 million manufacturer of decorative packaging and subsidiary of Amcor, a multibillion corporation based in Australia) and VP of Finance for Sterer Engineering, a subsidiary of Eaton Aerospace (An $8.5 billion Cleveland based multinational company). During his career, he has demonstrated capabilities in financial control, operational improvement, systems integration, strategic planning, and personnel management and development. His international experience in specialty chemicals, aerospace components, and packaging / distribution includes both corporate headquarters and line manufacturing environments.

James Barry

Mr. Barry has served American Vanguard Corporation and its wholly-owned subsidiaries since 1987. He was appointed Treasurer in July 1994. Mr. Barry has also served as Vice President and Assistant Secretary since 1990. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Barry was the chief financial executive of several public and private companies. Mr. Barry has a Bachelor's degree in accounting from A.P.U., and is completing a Masters of Accountancy in Taxation program at the Washington School of Law.

Glen Johnson

Glen Johnson was previously the North American Senior Marketing Manager for Contract Sales at Zeneca Ag Products where he had also been in charge of product acquisition and licensing for North America. Mr. Johnson was a key person at Zeneca and was directly involved in AMVAC's new Product Development Department and is responsible for the global acquisitions and business development activities for the Company. He has over twenty years experience in sales and marketing, acquisition and licensing, market development and field research and development with three multinational agrochemical companies. Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry and a masters of Science degree in Plant Chemistry from Northern Arizona University.

Doug Ashmore

Doug Ashmore is the Vice President and Director of Manufacturing for AMVAC's production facilities, responsible for plant operations, production scheduling, engineering, transportation, maintenance and purchasing. Mr. Ashmore joined AMVAC in 1988 from Chapman Engineering Inc., where he served as General Manager of Production Equipment from 1974 to 1988. Mr. Ashmore holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Texas A&M University.

Mr. Killmer who joined the Board in December of 2008 spent much of his career with Monsanto Company in a series of increasingly responsible research and development positions followed by an important managerial role as President of Monsanto Greater China.

Dr. Bill Feiler

Dr. Bill Feiler joined AMVAC in 1985 and is responsible for research and development, quality control and overall environmental, health and safety regulations compliance. Prior to joining AMVAC, Dr. Feiler held positions with Monsanto Corporation, Ethyl Corporation and Washington University. Dr. Feiler holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Florida.

Ian S. Chart
Vice President and Director of Regulatory Affairs

As Vice President and Director of Regulatory Affairs, Mr. Chart leads the company's effort to register and defend the company's products at EPA and other regulatory bodies worldwide. Mr. Chart is also Managing Director of AMVAC Chemical UK, Ltd. Prior to joining AMVAC, he was the Toxicology Manager of ICI Zeneca Agrochemicals for 12 years and Senior Regulatory Manager, covering worldwide regulations for 10 years. Mr. Chart was educated at the Metropolitan University of Manchester and he is a Fellow of the Institute of Biochemical Sciences.

Ted Ramirez

Ted Ramirez is a 33-year veteran of the Agricultural Crop Protection Business. Ted has held positions of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing at the former Ciba-Geigy Agricultural Division (now Syngenta) and at the former Bayer Corporation; Agricultural Division (now Bayer Crop Science). In his most recent position prior to joining AMVAC, Mr. Ramirez was the Manager of Marketing and Sales for Export, Technicals, Intermediates and Mature Products Business for Bayer Corporation. Mr. Ramirez is responsible for Short and Long Term Strategic Product and Crop Portfolio Marketing and Planning. In addition, his duties include coordination of communication and market research activities to support market strategies and tactics. Mr. Ramirez holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from New Mexico State University.

Timothy J. Donnelly

Timothy Donnelly brings to American Vanguard an impressive 19-year background in law. Most recently, he served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at DDi Corp. (Nasdaq: DDIC), a publicly held printed circuit board manufacturer, since June 2000. Mr. Donnelly managed a broad array of legal responsibilities including business plan and strategy development, SEC filings, M&A, Sarbanes-Oxely compliance, corporate governance issues, securities offerings and private placements, as well as negotiations with the EPA. Prior to that, from 1991 – 2000, he served as Assistant General Counsel at Rockwell International Corporation where he handled M&A, various licensing agreements and corporate litigation for the company. From 1986 – 1990, Mr. Donnelly was an Associate with the law firm Latham & Watkins where his responsibilities included corporate transactional work and civil litigation. Mr. Donnelly holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from John Carroll University and a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University Law School.

Alfredo Pelaez

Alfredo Pelaez is the Director of International Business for Amvac Chemical. Alfredo is a native of Colombia and is a U.S. citizen. He has worked in the agricultural chemicals and professional horticulture industries in the USA for the past 25 years. Previous to joining AMVAC in June of 2000, Alfredo was Director of Business for The Scotts Company in Latin America and Global Marketing Manager for Insecticides for FMC Corporation. Alfredo has a degree in Agronomy from the National University of Colombia and a Master of Sciences in Plant Pathology from the University of Minnesota.
