Fruitone® N
Useful
for thinning apples and for controlling pre-harvest drop of apples. Mid-Summer application of Fruitone® N promotes return bloom the following spring in alternate bearing varieties of apples.
For pre-harvest drop:
- Fruitone® N contains a 1-Naphthaleneacetic
Acid (NAA), sodium salt, equivalent of 3.5%. (3.1% NAA)
- With
summer and early fall varieties, Fruitone® can
take effect within 1-2 days in warm weather.
- Healthy
foliage, and optimal growing conditions allows Fruitone® to perform
better.
- Spray
when temperature exceeds 70 degrees F; higher
rates are required for cooler temperatures, and vice versa.
- With
Red Delicious and other later maturing varieties, use one
to two applications at a concentration of 10 ppm 7-14 days prior to harvest.
For thinning:
- Fruitone® N should not be used on early season
varieties (those that ripen before McIntosh). Use Amid-Thin® for
early varieties.
