Southern Region Product Development Manager

DUTIES: As a Regional Product Development Manager, the incumbent prioritizes the product development efforts within the Region based on individual commercial product objectives. He/she will work closely with universities and consultants to have the required field trials conducted. The incumbent will manage product development and field trials to identify best management practices for the Company’s products for crop protection and management, turf and ornamentals and other specialty markets. The individual will provide technical service support for the Company’s products both internally and externally. Additional responsibilities include serving as a technical product manager for a range of products, both commercial & development.

QUALIFICATIONS: MS or Ph.D. in an agricultural field with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience. The incumbent should have:

  1. A working knowledge of the agronomic practices for all crops grown in the south-west, mid-south, south-east and north-east regions of the USA; a knowledge of product testing; a knowledge of product chemistry for the most commonly used products in the areas of herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and plant and insect growth regulators; the ability to conduct and guide field trials geared towards the recommendation of our specific products.
  2. An ability to plan, conduct, and summarize research results in all areas of product testing.
  3. An ability to make presentations at scientific meetings and conferences and to distributors, retailers, and end-users; ability to train in-house sales staff.
  4. An ability to serve as technical product manager for a wide range of commercial and development products.

The incumbent should have the ability to lead and accomplish work through others using skills such as team building, conflict management, and strategic thinking and decision making. He/she should have proven abilities to communicate with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds and must have skills in the areas of oral and written communication, influencing/negotiating, partnering, and interpersonal relationships.

TERRITORY: Southwest to Northeast USA
